This First-Ever Chevy Corvette C8 Is Coming to Japan Before Anywhere Else

The General Motors Corporation is known for creating exceptional automobiles, but it may be about to up its game. The company recently announced that it will bring a new model to the market only in the Japanese market. Called the C8, it will be introduced in October 2019. Only 1,500 units will be made, but the car will be priced at the equivalent of over $200,000. That’s right—the new Corvette will be one of the most expensive cars on the planet.

This week’s big news is that the Corvette C8 is now official. Not only that, but the C8 is now the first C-car to be sold by Chevrolet in Japan, and is expected to arrive in dealerships toward the end of this month. It will be the first time the Corvette has been sold in Japan since it was discontinued in 2005.

The Chevy Corvette is one of the most well-known sports vehicles in the world, and it continues to be a famous brand. In fact, the first-ever production Corvette C8 was purchased for millions of dollars, demonstrating the Corvette’s enduring popularity. The Chevrolet Corvette C8 is popular in other countries as well, but Japan will receive the first right-hand-drive Corvette C8 before anybody else.

The Chevy Corvette C8, with a starting price of about $60,000, offers a lot of power at a reasonable price. The Corvette C8 is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces about 490 horsepower at that price. The Corvette C8 can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in approximately 2.8 seconds, which is impressive for a sports vehicle.

Chevy, on the other hand, has choices. These upgrades will, as anticipated, increase the Corvette C8’s power and performance, but at a significant expense. These options will mostly improve the powertrain, which will often include more powerful V8 engines. Chevy, for example, provides a twin-turbocharged V8 with over 800 horsepower. However, this option will set you back about $120,000.

There are many more choices as well as suspected alternatives, however the model with right-hand drive is a widely awaited option that isn’t a rumor. Obviously, the model will be left-hand drive for Americans, but this vehicle is the one to watch for Corvette enthusiasts in nations that drive on the other side of the road.

In Japan, the right-hand-drive Chevy Corvette C8 makes its premiere.

According to MotorTrend, Chevrolet said in 2019 that, above all else, the Chevy Corvette C8 with right-hand drive would be produced. According to MotorTrend, this was the first time a Corvette with a right-hand drive version was built at a factory. While many nations utilize right-hand drive vehicles, Chevrolet will only produce and sell this version of the Corvette C8 in Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

While it took Chevy a long time to produce these vehicles, MotorTrend reported that Japan would be the first of the right-hand drive countries to get this model. Some may have anticipated Chevy to release this version of the sports car first in the United Kingdom, thus this may have come as a surprise.

Regardless, right-hand-drive Corvette enthusiasts in Japan will be the first to get their hands on one. However, as MotorTrend pointed out, just a small percentage of fans will be able to do so.

Because of the restricted output,

The Chevy Corvette C8 is a premium sports vehicle with a starting price of about $60,000, so it wasn’t going to be affordable for everyone. According to MotorTrend, Chevy only allotted approximately 300 units for Japan for various reasons. Furthermore, when Chevy began selling the Corvette C8 in Japan, those 300 vehicles were quickly sold out.

Based on this information, it seems that Japanese Corvette enthusiasts are anxious to purchase this model, and Chevy just hasn’t produced enough for them. Furthermore, the manufacture and sale of right-hand drive vehicles is bad news for aftermarket conversion businesses that convert left-hand drive automobiles to right-hand drive cars, but they may survive.

Because Chevrolet’s 300-unit allotment in Japan sold out so quickly, Japanese Corvette enthusiasts may choose to purchase a left-hand drive Corvette and convert it to a right-hand drive model. In terms of the other right-hand-drive regions, because the right-hand-drive Corvette C8 was just recently introduced in Japan, it won’t be long before Australia and the United Kingdom receive theirs.
