Backpackers are often looking for the lightest weight possible, and the new Ripper 415 is the lightest backpacker pack that Teton Sports make.
This is the first of our field reviews in this series. The Ripper 415 is an entry level folding tactical knife. The knife features a 3.75″ blade with a black finish and a lanyard hole. The handle is a plain black G10. The knife weighs 8.8 ounces and measures 4.75″ closed. The blade uses the clip to assist with carrying the knife.
This is a world of extremes. You’ve got the man-machine who we call the “Ripper” here, and he’s a formidable man-machine. He’s a match-grade gas-operated, break-action, swamped-bore mallet that’s been built to take down the largest of game and the strongest of beasts. That means this thing has to be as tough as nails. And it is. You won’t find any synthetics, plastic or parts that are hard to replace on this big boy. Instead, you’ll find premium materials and solid, user-serviceable parts right here in the good ol’ U.S.A. The attention to detail is what will make everyone stand up and take notice
Luke Cuenco 05.13.21 We had the chance to spend some time with the powerful Killer Instinct Ripper 415. Whether you’re gearing up for deer season or just using the bolts for practice, the Ripper 425 is definitely worth considering. Killer Instinct has the following specifications for the 415 Ripper
SPEED – 415 feet per second TRIGGER – 3.5 POUNDS WIDTH – 14.25″ unloaded/17.75″ unloaded LENGTH – 35″-36.5″ 6.9 BOOKS TOWING WEIGHT – 200 POUNDS HUB – 15″ During testing, we found that the trigger is 5.25 pounds. It weighs 1.75 pounds more than the specs call for and is a bit too stiff for our taste, but the trigger pulls very cleanly and there is no noticeable slip. As for speed, we put the Killer Instinct Ripper 415 through the chronograph and found a speed of about 406 feet per second with a 386-grain bullet, which is pretty close to the advertised numbers. We measured the recording noise level at 86.5 dBA and noticed some vibrations during the recording. The Ripper 415 is built on an aluminum rail and has a 1.5 axis adjustment and a front handle adjustment, so choosing the perfect model for you will be fairly easy. The 4×32 rifle scope comes in a Pro package and has five brightness settings in red and blue. One of the problems we had with the riflescope was that the aiming points in the sights did not match in 10-meter increments. Therefore, you should mark your marks and affix them to the visor or some other highly visible location. The Pro Package also includes three Killer Tech screws, a five-bolt quiver with tactical side support, a string-supported tensioner and rail lubricant. Other features include dry-fire protection, ambidextrous automatic safety and a soft-touch coating. The Killer Instinct Ripper 415 has a towing capacity of 200 pounds. Killer Instinct offers a breech-loading device as an accessory for less than $70, if the 200-pound pull is too much for you. If you are looking for a new affordable crossbow to take into the field this fall, the Ripper 415 is definitely one to consider. Visit the Killer Instincts website for more information. It’s not every day that a new model in any type of device gets announced. When it does, it’s pretty exciting. We at Camping-Field-Guide were really excited when we heard about the new Killer Instinct Ripper 415 model, a new smaller version of the Ripper 415 from Camping-Field-Guide. The main reason for this was the fact that the new model was a smaller version of it’s predecessor (a smaller version of the Ripper 415)..
