Here at ETA, we have a range of experiences in all of our tents, and we are often asked what are the best tents for specific purposes. This post is intended to help you choose the right tent for your next backpacking trip.
No matter where you go, you’re bound to run into a situation where you need to stay dry. Whether you’re hiking in a heavy rainstorm or camping in a heavy downpour, you’ll need to keep dry. You’ll need a waterproof shelter that keeps you and your gear dry and protected. Helix 1 and 2 Person Tents are the answer to your waterproof shelter needs.
Luke Cuenco 05.27.21 Backpacking is a great way to get away from it all for a weekend. As much as we would like to sleep outside under the stars, a good shelter to protect us from insects and bad weather is often a necessity. ALPS Mountaineering has just launched two new lightweight trekking tents, the Helix 1 and 2 men. Are you looking for tents? Read more
For your next backpacking trip, the Helix 1 and 2-person tents are suitable.
On some of my recent backpacking trips, I have been lucky enough to find accommodation without having to use a tent. But here in the Appalachians, the trails often have no shelter for miles around, and you never know when you’ll get tired or find the perfect spot to camp for the night. Transporting a tent should not be cumbersome. That’s why ALPS Mountaineering has developed the Helix series of 1 and 2 person tents. The minimum weight of the Helix tent is only 2 pounds 14 ounces and 3 pounds 12 ounces for the 1-seat and 2-seat models, respectively. Both tents offer enough space for one or two people to sleep comfortably and, thanks to the aluminum poles, are light enough to fit in any backpack without extra weight.
