Buying a new SUV can be an expensive proposition. You’re probably looking for an SUV that can cover a long distance. After all, who wants to spend a pretty penny on an SUV that doesn’t get more than 100,000 miles? Fortunately, there are very few SUVs that can go 200,000 miles or more. Impressive, huh?
Toyota Land Cruiser | Toyota
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a durable off-roader with over 200,000 miles.
When it comes to the most sustainable SUV, that honor goes to the Toyota Land Cruiser. According to iSee, which analyzed more than 15.8 million vehicles sold in 2019 to determine which vehicles achieved the highest 200,000-mile percentage, 15.7 percent of Land Cruiser models sold in 2019 were able to maintain more than 200,000 miles. Compared to the segment average of 0.9%, this is quite impressive. Add to that the fact that 1.5% of Toyota Land Cruiser models will cross the 300,000 mile mark? And there’s no denying that the Toyota Land Cruiser is an SUV built to last.

Then there’s always the Ford Expedition. iSee Cars reports that 5.2 percent of Expedition models sold in 2019 have more than 200,000 miles on them. That’s less than the Land Cruiser and Sequoia, but it’s still pretty encouraging.
But as durable as the Ford Expedition SUV is, it’s not necessarily the most reliable on the market. According to Consumer Reports, this year’s model was predicted to have a reliability score of three out of five. Repair Pal also reports that the average annual repair cost of the Expedition is $861, which means that its operating costs are also higher than average.
