Camping Activity of the Month:
First Aid Kit Craft

Whether you’re taking a cub scout group into the woods of your kids to the beach…a small first aid kit is always a good idea to have with you and a fun educational craft to make with kids. You can use an old film canister, mint tin, or other container. Include a few different band aids and packets of first aid cream and you have yourself a handy kit and craft idea. Check out the full first aid kit craft page for more pointers.

Camping Tip of the Month:
Hydrate!

It’s very easy to lose track of hydration when enjoying all that fun in the sun. If you’re packing sodas, juices, adult beverages, or other products…save them for an evening treat. During the day, drink water. Plan ahead by bringing canteens, camelbaks, water bottles, or other means to hold water and ensure that your younger campers are drinking it. Dehydration can lead to many problems including heat stroke. Some of the hydration backpacks on the market carry up to 100-ounces of water in a flat bladder…which is convenient and easy to carry with the rest of your gear.

Product Review of the Month:
The Eureka Silver City
Sleeping Bag

Eureka Silver City Sleeping Bag

I was recently given the opportunity to do a product review on the Eureka Silver City sleeping bag and was amazed at its feather-weight, durability and warmth. I tested all of its aspects, compared it to my tried-and-true sleeping bag, and even subjected it to the trials of my young adolescent boys. It held up remarkably well and is with my pack for my next outing! To read more about its features, check out my full product review.

Happy Camping!
- Mike
